3-Day Course
Study specific guidelines to meet the PSM and RMP regulations. In this course, you will learn:
- Interpret the performance-based requirements of the OSHA process safety management (PSM) regulation and the prevention program portion of the EPA risk management program (RMP) regulation
- Develop and implement a cost-effective PSM program for a single facility or an entire corporation
As we go over each element of the regulations, you will study specific guidelines for developing written programs to meet PSM regulations, integrating PSM element requirements into other corporate programs, and evaluating program compliance throughout the implementation phase. You will also get insight into the latest regulatory developments and receive summary documentation of key clarifications by OSHA and EPA.
You will take with you extensive examples of actual or generic programs for individual PSM elements; you can adapt many of these programs for use at your facility to satisfy the requirements of the regulations. Exercises and workshops are used throughout the course to illustrate interpretations of the requirements and demonstrate ways to develop an effective PSM program.
Through this course, you will save time and money when developing your own PSM program. It could cost a company $100,000 or more to develop the understanding, obtain the resources, and develop the equivalent of the example programs and procedures offered in this course.
The Process Safety Institute has fully researched the OSHA and EPA regulations to develop a course that meets your PSM needs. We are a primary technical resource for groups such as AIChE/ASME, API, DOE, and AF&PA on the subject of PSM. Our company is at the forefront of dealing with regulators on industry's behalf, and we have helped many facilities implement effective PSM programs.
You will learn strategies for implementing various process safety activities and how PSM programs can be integrated with existing company activities.
Five reasons for you to attend:
- You will find out whether your facility is covered by OSHAs 29 CFR 1910.119 and EPAs 40 CFR 68
- You will develop the understanding necessary to explain the PSM requirements to others in your company who need to understand PSM issues
- You will learn how to implement effective programs from instructors who have helped companies like yours develop PSM programs
- You will be exposed to a range of options for compliance that will allow you to develop a PSM program that addresses your specific needs. We do not believe "one size fits all" works for PSM programs
- Over 1,800 alumni attest to the value of this course. Even attendees who already have had considerable PSM experience have told us they learned even more from our course. Call for references.
